Peak Issyk-Bash (3,917 m) is the dominant summit of the Talgar sector \u2014 the imposing wall visible from Peak Emshek<\/a> and the Ak-Bulak resort. The 2\u20133 day trek approaches from Ak-Bulak through the Soldatskoye gorge, over the Rakhat Pass, and into the remote Issyk-Bash valley \u2014 a glacial cirque that sees very few visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your team completed the first ascent of the neighbouring Peak Akbulak (3,460 m) during this expedition and named it after the resort. The route requires full overnight kit (tents, stoves, food for 2\u20133 days) and navigational experience \u2014 there are no established trails in the upper valley.
