Description

Peak Khrishatogo (also known as Yoshkar-Ola, 3,950 m) is the most popular beginner alpinism route in the entire Tuyuk-Su area — the peak where most Almaty climbers earn their first alpine grade. The approach follows the standard Tuyuk-Su track (Shymbulak → Mynzhylki → Alpingrad → Parus rock → Amangeldy Pass), and the technical section — a 30–40 minute scramble up a short rock wall with one 3–4 m “key” move — is just long enough to require rope and harness without being overwhelming.

This is where your guide teaches you to clip in, communicate on rope, and trust your feet on rock. The technical part is brief; the approach is the real effort. Category 1B.
