Kaskabas Peak (2932 m) is a scenic and moderately challenging hiking route located in the Kasskabas Gorge, part of the Ile-Alatau National Park in Kazakhstan. This trail offers a full-day adventure through diverse alpine landscapes, from lush forested valleys to rocky ridgelines, with panoramic views at the summit. The area is also home to the lesser-known Wolf Mountain, a neighboring peak popular among local hikers.
The route spans approximately 22 km with a total elevation gain of 2829 meters, taking about 10 to 12 hours to complete. It’s recommended for experienced hikers due to its distance, elevation change, and remote terrain. Despite the difficulty, the natural beauty and sense of isolation make it a rewarding journey for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience in the mountains of Central Asia.
