View trek & bookVery fit. These are full mountain days with 1,000 to 2,900 m of climbing, scree, and often nights at altitude. They suit experienced hikers comfortable with long days; some (Satpayev, Molodaya Gvardiya) involve basic mountaineering. If you're newer to hiking, start with our day hikes or beginner trails first.
Most are 2 to 6 day treks with one or more nights at a high camp. A few – Big Almaty Peak, Peak Turan and Peak Karniznyi – can be done as a single very long day or extended with an overnight; just tell us which you'd prefer.
In tents at a high camp. We provide the tents, sleeping mats and meals; you bring a warm sleeping bag (or rent one from us). The Big Almaty Circuit and Kaskelen–Prohodnoe are true wilderness routes with no huts or resupply.
A private certified mountain guide, transport from Almaty, camping gear, all meals on the mountain, safety and navigation equipment, and national-park fees. You bring personal clothing, broken-in boots and a sleeping bag.
Mid-June to mid-September, when the high passes and summits are largely snow-free. Earlier or later you should expect snow and ice, some routes may need crampons, and a few become unsafe.
For Tourist Peak, Peak Karniznyi and the passes, strong hiking fitness is enough. Satpayev and Molodaya Gvardiya involve scrambling and short rope sections, so previous scrambling experience helps; the guide carries safety gear, but you must be confident on steep, exposed ground.
These are our most serious adventures – remote, high and unforgettable. Tell us your dates and fitness level and we'll match you to the right trek and handle everything else.
