Big Almaty Lake for its electric turquoise, and Kaindy for its one-of-a-kind sunken forest. Kolsai is the most varied if you have a few days.
June to September, when the high lakes are ice-free and the water is most vivid. Big Almaty Lake stays a deep blue even in winter.
